Thanks for the comments on my last post! This is fun and I will be adding your blogs to my links list. However, how do I get your address (Lindsay in particular)? When I clicked on your names, all I got was your profiles, not your blog... As you can see, I'm still very fresh at all this.
Kirsten, I read your blog yesterday and was very excited about your Canuck spottings!! That's when I wish I could be a fly on the wall or better yet, just happen to be visiting when they arrive! You lucky girl.
Another question: When I am speaking about or to (in this post Lindsay and Kirsten), how do I get their names red and underlined to be a quick link? Kelly is coming over on Monday with Taeya to show me more, but in the meantime if there's an easy answer, let me know.
I also want to know how to get more than one pic on a post, so that I don't have to re-post. You'll notice that's what I did to show Elijah's pic right after he was born.
Elijah is sleeping right now - yeah! He has been such a good sleeper over the last 2-3 weeks. He is now regularly sleeping from about 9:30pm to 7ish am!! I am such a lucky momma! I don't really like to give "absoulutes" when it comes to his behaviour or routine because I've discovered quickly that babies like to make liars out of you!! It seems like the minute you say that your kid is a good eater or sleeper or rarely cries, Murphy's law comes into effect.
On another note...
It appears that last night that we bought a new vehicle. I say "appears" because the deal has to be approved by the big boss at Mazda today. We tentatively have bought a Mazda5. We've heard really great reviews about them. It's a six seater, but the back two seats can fold down to provide lots of cargo room, which we need seeing as we have the dog kennel and the dove release business. We also wanted something that was good on gas and could fit our family as we grow because it's highly unlikely that we will trade it in in 5 years. It's really funny to hear my husband talk about needing more room for our kids (notice the plural). For anyone who knows him well, you will know that he was not eager to get started. But now that we have Elijah, he's the one who wanted to know if 3 car seats could fit in the back seat of a Toyota Matrix!! Too funny and really neat the way God works in our lives. I guess he likes this fatherhood thing afterall (aww... it makes me a little teary!).
So back to the car - we got one of the last 2006 in the province and, therefore, Gerdi could wheel and deal pretty hard. So, of course, my menno man managed to get a pretty good number off the ticket price. He, however, was convinced when we left that he had caved too early and could have gotten more off. As his buddy said last night, he would have left thinking he could get a better deal no matter what!
Last week, we sold my awesome Honda Civic hatchback (sniff, sniff) to a student at CBC, so if you see my car driving around there, it's not me. Apparently, our "Wedding Wings" logo is still on it. I had that car since I was 17 and had gotten pretty attached I discovered. As the new owner drove away, I had a momentary sick feeling realizing that my little car was no longer mine. The feeling didn't last long, but I've realized that's the way I deal with a lot of things in life. I don't tend to dwell on things and I'm not overly sentimental until something actually happens and is a reality. Then it hits me.

Glad to hear about the car! We'd love to get a new one too...the 2-door hatchback is just a bit too tough with a carseat, eh?
To link to a blog (or any website) in a post, you'll see a little green earth with a chain link in the blog toolbar that has bold, italic, etc next to it. If you highlight the text you want to link, then click that button, type in the website and click "ok" you'll have the linked text! easy as that.
As for pictures, you should be able to just click the picture button again and put them right after each other - but i'll show that to you on Monday if it doesn't make sense.
Hi Sarah
This is so great! i am glad you decided to start blogging.
Trish
Hi Sarah
You are just like your mother then. Things always hit me after the fact too. i.e. whenever I want to move I'm really into it. Then the first night in the new place it ALL hits me ....
I so get the attached to cars bit. My heart skipped a beat when you said you sold you hatchback honda civic since we honsetly let go of ours a week ago exactly too! and I was soooo sad (even though it was starting to seriously suck and left me stranded on the highway three times this year...Yeah for your blog. I'm totally linking yours!
Hey Sarah,
I'm sure Kelly will be able to show you all the little tricks on Monday! I didn't make my blog public so that's why I don't think it shows up on my profile. It's http://nothingrhymeswithlindsay.blogspot.com if you want to check it out!
Happy 2nd Advent :-)
Good-bye Honda... good-bye. Love the picture of Elijah. Lets get together.
Sarah I am THRILLED that you have started a blog... I can be attached to things too... when i sell them it just more symbolizes an end of an era or something...
