I wish I had something more of interest to post, but I feel the necessity to post something... my camera is still out of order so I have no new shots of Elijah to post either, but was just reminded of some pics e-mailed to me... so I will add those in!
He's 8.5 months old now - crazy!! He's fighting a cold too, so that's not helping with the sleeping thing. Thankfully, he's a happy sick baby and besides needing a few extra cuddles during the day, he's doing just fine. Last night he woke at 4:30 and really cried hard. He was totally congested and just needed to have a good cough, but he didn't so instead I rocked him, fed him, and Daddy gave him some more Tylenol. After about 25 minutes, he went back to sleep and I didn't hear from him again until just before 8am, so that was good. As for me, I am definitely starting the weaning process. I am down to about twice a day, with a few small nurses to relieve the engorgement (and boy was it bad!).My body now appears to know that it needs to produce less milk, so I haven't had to relieve the pressure during the day as much (TMI?). Having a sick baby doesn't help, but I'm trying not to nurse him for comfort because I really don't want to go backwards with the whole weaning thing. When I first started nursing less, it honestly felt as bad as when my milk came in! I wasn't really expecting that... totally uncomfortable and sore...
...moving on now(hahaha), I hope to know where I'm teaching this fall by the end of next week. I'm actually quite excited to find out and start planning for this coming school year. I think working part-time will be really good for me. Even though I love being home with him (and have no desire to work full-time), I love teaching and this seems like the perfect balance between both. I'll let you know how it goes...
Here's the random pics of our life in the last week:
Elijah eating a Farley's biscuit at Auntie Lori's house.
The new safari outfit he got from C&A when they were out from Alberta - so cute!
It was my nephew's birthday last weekend. The weather was wonderful and he got a cool wiggly sprinkler from his cousins.
J showing off her sweet jumping skills - I love how this shot captures the action!
S is 3!
Elijah watching the kids, after he went in the wading pool.
Fire Fighter Goerzen on his second day of work.
