BRIGHT NIGHTS 2007

On Sunday evening we went to Stanley Park with Elijah for the train ride. My family had this tradition growing up (and we always looked forward to it!), so I only think it is fitting to continue it with my children. Sadly, Gerdi had to back out last minute because our dog didn't have her puppies on Saturday, which meant he was on puppy watch - GRR. Oh well, it was my own fault for not checking the puppy calendar. And I had thought I had done so well checking his Firefighting schedule, sheesh. Too many things to keep up with here! My mum was also scheduled to come along too with her exchange student, but her exchange student had a bad case of stomach flu so she had to back out too - what a night! So we were left with two extra tickets. No worries though, we called my cousin and invited her two oldest kids, Emmaleigh and Alastair (7 and 5). It was great to be able to include them because they're the perfect age for something like this. I think they enjoyed themselves thoroughly! Even little 'E' seemed quite taken with all the bright lights and the train - very cute. I'm sure next year will be even better since he'll be a year old and mummy will make sure daddy is available too!

Here's some pics of the night:

Waiting in the line-up.

Mummy and 'Little E' as his Great Auntie Karen likes to refer to him :D

Nana and the kids.

Sooo precious!! He really is looking out at the train as it approached with great fascination.

Hey! I was there Sunday night too. I had friends who had two extra tickets last minute and called me! Our stories are sounding very similar. Glad you had a good time. My favourite was that one tree in the middle that was multi-coloured.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to you, Gerdi and Elijah!
