Catch up time!

Hello anybody out there that is still checking in!!! I know, I have been a very bad blogger as of late. I don't know what's happened, but my desire to post has been low. I'd like to blame it on such great spring/summer weather that's kept me outside, but we all know I'd be lying, lol.
Instead, my lack of a camera (yes, the digital really is gone - vanished in fact!) and busy school year end stuff has taken it's toll on me. With no cute new pics of Elijah to post, it just doesn't feel as satisfying. I must also admit that facebook as taken over... uh-oh.

As far as Elijah goes, he's doing great. At this point and for probably the last 2 months, he tries to repeat everything we say. He has a large vocabulary, but still sounds funny saying some words like "ite" for light. He also likes to pretend sleep in our bed and is quite cute when he fakes snoring sounds. He also got a potty and a stepping stool for the bathroom this week. I can't wait to take a picture of him at the sink "brushing" his teeth - soooo precious! As for the potty, no I'm not totally delusion in thinking that he'll be potty trained soon, BUT I thought the summer would be a great time to practice with all the outdoor time and if he just so happens to catch on, then that would be a great bonus for sure. He seems interested in the potty (thanks to "Hemwee" his little doll and book about a toddler named Henry who pees on the potty). Hemwee is quite the plush doll too, FULL ON MALE ANATOMY!! I was not expecting that the first time we pulled down his underwear!! And Elijah LOVES to put him on the potty (he came with a mini one) and says, "pssss" whenever you ask him "what does Henry do?"

We went to the specialist on Wednesday for a follow-up appointment about his eyes. She seemed very pleased with how they are looking, working and healing. I told her that they are not quite right yet (as his left eye will wander up at times when he's reclined or relaxed) and she was able to see that. So, we have ANOTHER appointment in 6 weeks with our surgeon (not the same person) who will assess the 'vertical' alignment and give his opinion on treatment (i.e. another possible surgery). Because he did so well with the first surgery, I would be inclined to just treat it now while he's young and has less of a memory for this type of thing. My only hesitancy is that he of course needs to be put under general anesthetic... The surgeon did warn us prior to his first surgery that Elijah may need a second surgery depending on how things go and that he would rather under-correct than over-correct the issue. So we wait.

I will try to keep you all posted :-)
