** Here's an addition to my Fall TV Watching List: Amazing Race**
I am sitting here beside my naked son - hoping he doesn't pee on the couch, risky I know, but at least it's leather. I want to catch him ready to pee and then quickly transport him to the toilet now that he has 'Thomas' waiting for him. I found one of those kid seats for the normal toilet that has 'Thomas and Friends' all over it. He is quite taken with it and I hope this will be the start of a beautiful peeing friendship with Thomas... Now, am I really in potty training mode just yet? No. BUT I hope to get him familiar and excited about peeing and pooping on the big potty. A few weeks ago, Gerdi told Elijah to tell him when he needed to pee and then lo and behold a few minutes later he said, "Poop, poop" and Gerdi put him on the toilet and he did a plop! I was so impressed as he has never done that for me! Now he did finish his poop later that morning in his diaper, but it was a start and poops (apparently) are the trickier ones to get boys to do on the toilet. So here's hoping - xx. And if I don't have success toilet training, I think Gerdi's got the magic touch, so he can have this job, lol.
So Gerdi just walked in and does not like my potty training method!! haha. Apparently, this method is TOO risky :-) So I guess he's getting a diaper put on him. Hopefully, he'll still let me know.

good luck with the potty training! Janae is basically potty trained she only wears pullups to bed cause i am not ready to risk that yet!! I did a lot to research on this and thye once you start potty training not to put them in diapers naymore, but a pullup or panties! also i have heard for boys to throw cheerios in the toilet for them to aim so it's a game and hopefully most of the pee goes in the bowl!!! Have fun, it can take a while
I am right in there with you! Devyn has been wanting to use the potty for a couple months now as she watches Janae (Christy's girl) go. Over these last months i have randomly put her on there when she asks, but she has wanted 'off' right aways... not even trying to go. Months ago, i wasn't ready to be committed to doing it.. this last week, she peed once and the last 2 days has done #2 on the potty!! I feel more up to it now, but am still taking it slowly. Devyn doesn't even know how to take her pants off yet, and with Marshall around... let's just say the ball is rolling and it's kinda exciting to think about not buying diapers anymore... talk about throwing your money away!
who knew life would become all about pooping and peeing....lol. actually, old people and toddlers have alot in common....oh my - full circle - yikes
