What was that??

Urgh! My son was up twice, yes twice, last night!! He woke up at 1am and then 4am. Very odd. However, this last week he has been getting up quite regularly around 4am... he's regressing I tell you! I'm hopeful that this waking is for a reason, i.e. a new tooth or something. No evidence of that though. I think he's going to have to cry tonight because I am spoiled now and I do not like getting up in the night any more. I definitely know he can do it. He was doing it for months!!! Just a few days ago he slept from 7pm - 6am - pure bliss! Right now as I type he is wailing in his crib... oh, the joys. He's tired because he only had a short nap this morning (less than an hour) and now is fighting me tooth and nail for this extra nap... little stinker! But mama knows best, right?
We have two dove releases for weddings today (we're crossing our fingers that the weather will improve). They're both in Abby so that's nice and close. My niece will be coming along with me to watch Elijah while I do business. I think I'll treat her to Starby's or Timmy's beforehand. I love wedding days because anything I purchase on the road (i.e. a Starbucks) is a right-off. Gotta love self-employment!!'
On the topic of business, life is going to be very interesting once Gerdi starts his 4 days on, 4 days off shift work. We're already anticipating a few conflicts for our dove releases... I'm going to have to pull up the slack... could be an interesting season. Oh well, this too shall pass and then next year we'll know for sure what we can and cannot do because he gets his shifts a year in advance. That is very handy!!
On Monday Gerdi is going to start levelling out our front yard. We're buying a commercial style volleyball set-up (posts, sleeves - for the ground so you can take the posts out, net). My mum's family has an annual volleyball tourney that was hosted at my parent's house in previous years. Well, now that they've moved, we've got the biggest yard in the family, so we've been nominated to host. It's just like Gerdi to want to do it right and get a proper set up. Something I really love about him!
**side note: my baby is quiet now... could it be he gave in and is sleeping??**
Well, what else can I say... (it's here now that I would normally post some random pics of Elijah to fill the space).
Camera is still broken. I would have loved to have taken a picture of Elijah in his wagon (previously owned by Lorrie). I strapped him in it yesterday, wasn't sure if he was too small, but it worked like charm. I had my cousin's kids over for the afternoon and we walked to the local school together to play on the playground. Being that they are 4 and 6 I thought the wagon was a better than the stroller because they could take turns being pulled when they got tired. It worked really well and the umbrella contraption on top (crafted by non other than Lorrie herself) worked great. I'll definitely post a pic next time I use it (that is if the camera is fixed).
Well, I've tried my best to ramble on about this and that to extend my post (I've noticed that I'm not a big typer compared to some bloggers out there). Why I feel the need to post longer, I don't know. Guess I just want to keep up with the Jones'. Hahaha.

UPDATE: There looks to be a tooth cutting through - his top right! YAHOO. Maybe there was a reason for all that night waking :P

how nice that he is now asleep. Benjamin does not fall asleep from crying. I've tried. He has cried until practically loosing his voice but continues to persist. But I usually just have to pick him up and calm him down and then put him back down and he is out. I've been outside today.... certainly not nice out. maybe the rain will stop by the time of the weddings.

an enjoyable post to read, i must say. but i am looking forward to more pictures of mr. handsome (elijah!)
if you've ever got your hands tied with a release and elijah (and your mom/niece can't watch him), feel free to drop him off.

I wanted to echo Kelly's comment, whenever you need someone to watch Elijah because you're picking up the slack - let us know - we'd love to have him. Will we be having a little group volleyball in the summer?

I usaully do not give advice on blogs...but with Gavin he only did that stuff for a reason. before you let him "scream it out, which I am all for" have his ears checked. sometimes teeth create more problems then we think. Then if they clear him....let him go at night, oh I remember the days. or disregard this and do what ever feels right. Just a thought.
