Update

It's been a while, I know... I have found it difficult as of late to post. Life just seems to be so busy right now. Granted I have a toddler who is BUSY, we have ANOTHER litter of puppies in the house - 10 to be exact - and then I've got report cards coming up, which means lots of marking and some tests to prep for, and then Gerdi has his first big test for the fire department tomorrow. WHEW!

It was also my birthday on Saturday, the big 2-6! I am officially closer to 30 than to 20... kind of crazy ;) I had a great weekend with my hubby. We spent the day together with Elijah on Saturday. We lounged around in the morning, went to ABC for lunch and then to the mall (yes, Gerdi went to the mall with me!). I didn't have much luck with purchases then, but I made up for it yesterday... oops. In the evening we went to church, then stuck around for a church meeting (which was very encouraging) and then we went back to my mum's house. I was spending the night there because she was away for the night and her exchange student can't be alone in the house. Gerdi and our friends Chad and Karla came over for a movie and then left around 11:30pm. A good birthday indeed!

The 26 year old on her birthday...

Then on Sunday evening my mum offered to babysit so that Gerdi and I could go out on a hot date. We went to the KEG in Langley and then to Colossus to watch the movie, Gone Baby Gone. Very intense and disappointingly lots of f-bombs, but certainly gripping and a good plot.

Then yesterday I went to the mall and made some birthday purchases. A Gap hoodie, on sale for $20 bucks, and then a pair of work pants, a sweater and a vest from Ricki's (I tend to do really well there for work related apparel). I didn't get a deal on those purchases, although I did manage to get $10 off because it was just my birthday and Ricki's sends out a coupon for your birthday. I actually didn't even have the coupon with me, but I asked them to honour it and even though 'they don't normally do that' they made an exception. Yeah! I have really been trained well by my husband (he ALWAYS asks for a deal... sometimes to the point of embarrassing his wife). I would have made him proud yesterday :D Although I could have made him more proud had I refrained from spending the money in the first place. Oh well, baby steps, right?!

I am at my mom's house this morning to do school stuff while Elijah sleeps (she has a photocopier and better workspace) and then it's First Time Moms at the church this afternoon where the kidlets will be dressed in their Halloween costumes. Elijah is a fireman, predictable I know, but totally adorable as I bought him a fire truck that straps onto his shoulders. It will be even cuter next year when he is walking. Yes, he's still not walking. Although he is walking more and more when we hold his hands, so that's progress for sure. He also hasn't cut any new teeth in months. I thought he would start cutting his first year molars by now, but no. I guess this really isn't a bad thing seeing as teething really isn't that fun.

Here's a sneak peak at Elijah's Halloween costume...
